2 Thumbs Up For Bang Sare's Local Government

When we moved in our vacant street in Bang Sare I was asked by the planning commission to upgrade the water drainage dilemma in our property. I fixed ½ the problem when we built up the property & added 13 cubic meters of boulders to slow down the flow of water & alleviate the water load on the non existent drainage. The local Government official in Bang Sare - is also a friend of Alisa & I told us there is a drainage pipe to take the water under the street & up till 2 weeks ago it surfaced with the heavy rains. I knew it would be a total waste of time to appeal to the local government to fix the problem. So I opened the hole & had a hel_l of a problem getting some rock from the Quarry to fill the 13+ meters of rock needed.

The pu yi ban-( which is also the son of the local govn. Official) (sorry about the spelling) just happened to drive by & see the opened hole(that was getting larger from the rain)

Alisa told him the death coffin we opened was dangerous & we did not want to see anyone die in a motorcycle accident.

The next morning 5 people came out & made several trips with a Toyota 1 ton & filled the hole. & of course I helped move the rock.(possibly one of the few places here in Thailand that welcome farang help) After that they drove to the cement shop & picked up 1 meter of sand & 5 bags of gravel to finish the job.

I put in a gutter to take the water to the drainage area.

The only charge was for the rock sand & gravel . We gave the 1800 baht + a 200 baht tip as we were grateful!

Later in the day Gai’s father sent over 4 lime trees & 2 bags of Qwai key for being a part of the solution instead of a whinger.

Just a shout out to the local Government here. Just when you think how worthless they are , sometimes they really do help!!!!!!!!! God I love Bang Sare!!! :D:o:D :D
