SOURCE: Pattaya One News: September 9th 2008

Man seriously hurt in high speed motorbike crash in Soi Kow Tha Low.

In the early hours of Tuesday Morning, Police and Sawang Boriboon Rescue Workers were called to a ditch located in Soi Kow Tha Low following reports of a motorbike which had fallen into the 3 meter deep ditch.

The driver of the motorbike was reported as injured and had already been taken to Hospital before rescue workers arrived. The man was rushed to Banglamung Hospital and is currently in a serious condition according to Doctors.

Witnesses at the scene, described how the bike approached the area at a high rate of speed and appeared to collide with a cement pipe located on the side of the road. The bike and its driver then fell into the ditch which was partially filled with water.

We understand the driver was not intoxicated and was thought to have lost control of his bike due to the high rate of speed.

they never learn ,dont drink and drive

ESPECIALLY ON A MOTOR BIKE.....YOU ARE BOUND TO SPILL IT !!!!!!! :o

Although the time and circumstances of the incident would lead many to assume he'd been drinking the last line of the report indicates otherwise.

We understand the driver was not intoxicated and was thought to have lost control of his bike due to the high rate of speed.

Although quite how those erudite reporters from Pattaya One News figured this out as the guy had already been taken to hospital is beyond me but maybe, just maybe, they are getting a bit of journalistic integrity.

:o

No! Strike that, obviously a newbie reporter who hasn't been indoctrinated into the journalistic values of Pattaya One News.

My guess would be a combination of high speed, wet/sandy road surface and poorly stored building materials together with poor lighting. Giving the rider the benefit of doubt and assuming he was not intoxicated.
