Where Can I Find An Intel Or Broadcom Network Adapter?

I am looking for an Intel or Broadcom network card... or any compatible adapter that uses an Intel e100, Intel e1000, Broadcom tg3 or Broadcom bnx2 driver.

Any such adapters available in Thailand?

I have to admit I haven't been to Pantip... but I did check at Oasis Plaza in Khon Kaen (which has many of the same shops as Pantip) where I must have checked at least 30 different shops selling network adapters and they were all either Realtek, D-Link, ADMtek, SMC, LinkSys or ZyXEL... no Intel or Broadcom.

I need Intel or Broadcom for a specific server application (VMWare ESX) and I'm sure somewhere in Thailand they must be available.

Thanks for your help...

In simpler terms... I'm looking for an Intel Pro/100 or Pro/1000 network adapter (Desktop or Server version) or a Broadcom NetXtreme network adapter

Thanks,

Can't help you directly, but you might try to find if other brands are using the same chipsets.

Hard in Thailand, over here you'll mostly the cheaper stuff with the realtek chipsets, although I do have some older LAN cards lying around with broadcom chipsets...

My thoughts also and I did check the chipsets on every card I looked at and no luck.

I'm starting to learn that Intel/Broadcom cards (or chipsets embedded on the motherboard) are only seen on servers (or high-end workstations). Perhaps most businesses in Thailand use cheaper consumer grade hardware to save costs (since I can't find any suppliers of business grade hardware).

comp-ware on 3rd floor pantip should have the intel cards you're looking for. i believe the ones I saw a few weeks ago there were on the ESX hardware compatibility list. they had 1 and 2-port cards.

just curious, for storage, are you planning to go SATA? do you have a motherboard picked out?
