Rough Tile Surface

Featured Replies

We have a salt water pool filled from well water. The pool has been in existance for approx 12 months and now has a white rim around the surface of the water and all the tiles are rough not smooth. The pool people say this is due to the hard water. What can we do to make the tiles smooth again and keep them that way. We are in the uk so have to rely on pool guys, any ideas?

Souds like it is from the hard water. You could try rubbing a part of the tiles with acetic acid (spirit vinegar) or a proprietary kettle cleaner. Check also that your ph is stable at 7.2.

Here is a link to some stuff on water softners in the UK. Is your pool in the Uk or in Thailand?

Water softening.

Sorry about that. Pool is in Thailand. Do we have to drain the pool to clean the tiles on the sides and bottom or is there something we can put into the water?

If the ph is stable will the prevent the problem from reccurring?
