It was bought up on another thread: "Homesick" recently that you tube is a good way to catch up on TV back in your home country.

I have being using you tube for some time for this very reason and as a Brit I have caught up on things such as Never mind the <deleted>, Top gear, Parkinson and Friday night with Jonathon Ross (who has had some impressive guests) and more recently Big Cat live (Which is very good) along with various BBC documentaries. Do any other Brits have any other you tube recommendations.

Or even Non-Brits with recommendations that they could share with the rest of us expats (Or even Thai people) here. Yooo tooobe is a great tool for us expats and so lets make the most of it by giving reccommendations.

I can think of few, Real Time with Bill Maher, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report (you also can watch at comedycentral.com, I was surprised they don't block), Penn and Teller Bullshit!. The major shows I get via bit torrent. Top Gear and Fifth Gear must be watched at full resolution. Top Gear Australia isn't as bad as I thought it would be. As for the US prime time line-up I download the shows.

Never Mind the <deleted> globalj? You mean Buzzcocks right? Sex Pistols slip eh? Top album though and obviously the inspiration for the name. The only stuff I really miss from British TV are repeats of Rising Damp and Porridge. The rest I find pretty tedious to be honest. Parky had his day years ago, Ross's bloated, self-serving smugness makes me want to puke blood (you're right though, he does get some big names, all of which, of course, he's sickenenly 'matey' with). I'm a really big Chris Morris fan, so Youtube is good for that: has pretty much all the episodes of The Day Today, Brasseye (including the infamous 'Peadogeddon' episode) and some of Jam. On the Hour, Blue Jam and the Music Shows (all radio shows) are sadly lacking, but I know where to get hold of these - Morris fans feel free to PM me.

Totally agree with gunnyd on Bill Maher, John Stewart and Steven Colbert. Got hooked on all these when I was living in the US. British satire seems pretty much dead and buried these days. Even 'Have I Got News For You' is a feeble parody of what it used to be. The Americans are really doing the business (check out Colbert's speech at the White House correspondents dinner from 2006 - it's genius). Also, from what I remember there's quite a bit of Bill Hicks, Chris Rock and David Chapelle on Youtube. All of whom are brilliant, particularly Hicks...
