About the high class hotels
Be aware, though, that Centara Grand is currently undergoing an extensive renovation. It's still open but some of the attractions are closed during the renovation work and some of the property has been walled off to screen the work being done. -

Splitting my time between Thailand & my originating country....
Why would they count the covid-time "against" folks - when those who stayed, and kept spending here, helped the country greatly during that bleak time. They even created a special-visa to encourage people to stay long-term (STV). We could not save all the jobs that stupid episode wrecked, but we saved many. -

I’m with you on all that. It also doesn’t damage the liver or cause heart attacks. A lot more cost effective than alcohol as well. My mouth often smells like ass in the morning though, but for different reasons. PM me for photos. Me too. Slowing things down is lovely. -

Over the years
That depends on immigration office. Perhaps state immigration office to clarify. Many offices do not require proof of "pension" rather they accept 12 month bank statement showing monthly transfers. -

Recommendations of a quality Slow Cooker
I bought the cheapest one I could find on Lazada. It doesn't have all the electronic bells and whistles, but who cares. It is a slow cooker. Set the temp and walk away. -

I have an existing, decent Thai private med insurance policy that I've paid for and kept ever since I moved to Thailand, but one that is getting increasingly more expensive as I get into my mid 60s and beyond... Never really had to use it for anything big yet, fingers crossed. But now I'm looking at probably keeping the Thai policy for the time I'm continuing to live in Thailand, but also getting and paying for Medicare (some combination of A, B and beyond), just to cover in case I move back any time in the future or need to go back for some kind of treatment I want or can only get in the U.S. Then layer on top of that, the issues related to the Thai government's plans to start taxing worldwide income of anyone living here for more than half the year, and that at least creates some planning scenarios where I might decide to be out of Thailand for some periods of time... Who knows how all that's going to turn out. -

Over the years
I was specifically told that my more than adequate, easily proven (xfers to my Thai bank + foreign-bank records) foreign income would not be allowed for my marriage-based extension, because it was not a pension. They required proof of the income-source, to verify (which I was too young to have). This was several years ago, but I haven't heard that they changed this. If working in Thailand w/ work-permit, you can use non-pension money, but the process is harrowing - requiring all Non-O-marriage paperwork PLUS Non-B paperwork (a pile of company-records).
