If the PTT (authority of oil Thailand) find oil in your land what will happen?

This is a real issue for me and my wife right now. We have land and a house

north of Ubon Ratchathani but for how long?

Will they pay or just take the land from us?

I've trying to find something about the Sirikit Oilfields land issues but there is

nothing on the internet just now. Do anyone know something?

First of all you will not own any "mineral" rights on your land, these will be owned by "some company" somewhere....

PTT cannot kick you off the land, they will either buy the land off you at a "fair" market rate or more usually they will pay you a fee to drill on your land and pay a "service" fee.

Well, the price on land is up by 400% since PTT came to the village. I'm a little bit scared it will be some conflict of interest between the "fair" price PTT will offer.

The farmers is poor and this can be their chance of a lifetime for big money. Our neighbour have many rai with rubberthrees and we have invested in threes too.

If you have oil on your land, I am sure you will get a offer you cant refuse. You dont have to give up your land if it is owned by you but like in all over countries you may be pressured to accept a substaintial payment by the oil companies.

If you have oil on your land, I am sure you will get a offer you cant refuse. You dont have to give up your land if it is owned by you but like in all over countries you may be pressured to accept a substaintial payment by the oil companies.

You may own the land, but think with a bit of research you will find you dont own the mineral rights, normally you only own the land down to a certain depth under the ground. The only way PTT will offer you big bucks for the land is if they are planning on putting a plant on it, not a well head. If memory serves the Sirikit Oil field runs flow lines from the existing wells across country back to the plant.

Therefore if they are intending to put only one or two wellheads on the property, they will come up with a lease agreement to install the wellhead, not buy all the land, ie they will rent a certain portion of the land from the land owner where the well head is going, which will give then full access to their kit and flowlines running off it.

Yes there will be money in this for the land owner, but not what they think they are getting

The 400% increase in the price of property is pure speculation on the farmers part, ie Oil = big bucks for them, without understanding the exactly how these things work.
