It was good time for us, we bought a house in Bangkok with a discount of more than 50% from the original price. Same in Hong Kong during the SAR crisis. But I've to say it was much worse, people were scared for their life, not only their job, and we were living there!

The housing market will be the hardest hit of all, following by massive layoff/high unemployment.

I have cash ready to buy into next year, the house that is - however still worry about the sub-standard construction which is the norm around here.
