Farang Movie's

I am living in Thailand now for over three years and I am wondering why they show those stupid farang movie's translated in Thai on tv,the language they use is disgusting its all violence and killing people and why show thai people how to use coke and heroine,I know there is a drug problem also here in Thailand but those stupid movie's are showed in the middle of the day and I don't think I am mistaken but I have the feeling that in those three years that I am here the crimerate increased,I love it here in Thailand even if you are over 60 you stil get respect and you are part of the community not like Europe where they like to put you with the garbage if possible but I am afraid that in the future it will change here too.

I Just finished watching "Bangkok Dangerous" (No the recent American one with Cage) and it sure seemed too be violent...

I love films and hate old people, so of course my favourite film is Soylent Green. Everyone over the age of 65 is put down. Great entertainment.

My advice is, get a life and get out and about during the day.

Thais seem to prever these 'trash' movies even more that westerners. The Thai produced trash they watch is similar in its lack of intellectual content. I have only known three women, in the 4 years I have lived here, who could watch a serious western drama film. Their attention span is to short or they cannot grasp a complex plot.

I love films and hate old people, so of course my favourite film is Soylent Green. Everyone over the age of 65 is put down. Great entertainment.

In Thailand, if you want to watch most of the more quality international movies you have limited options:

-- occasionally some are widely released (a very small percentage)

-- DVDs on the street, MBK

-- legit DVDs

-- cable tv

-- downloads from sites you can easily find

-- film festivals, mostly in Bangkok

-- a few art film houses in Bangkok, again a small percentage of what is available

I'm sure you could find a use for 'goatboy' here quite easily. And his speech about non-smokers is a no-brainer in any of the many smoking discussions. You might already have them, but I've got some fairly rare sets from him (audio) - Brighton UK '92, Egham UK '92, Chicago '92, Igby's show, Vegas (AVNs) show, plus video of the infamous show in Chicago where he loses it with the audience - for me this is him at his very best.
