November 5, 200817 yr Does anyone know of place to buy bags of sand for a kids' sandbox in Chiang Mai? Thank you.
November 5, 200817 yr Many of the construction supply shops sell sand by the bag, perhaps not the ones in the center of town but those on the edges often do. Edited November 5, 200817 yr by Bill97
November 5, 200817 yr There's a place on outer side of Om Muang Rd between bridge and Airport Plaza junction. Vaguely close to being opposite to Chiang Mai Land exit, sorry can't remember what it is next to. It is more drive in, I can't remember if they have much displayed on the road side.
November 6, 200817 yr Heaps of places including: - hardware & builders supplies shops/yards - places that sell concrete fittings (like outdoor tables and chairs, sump boxes/culverts, waste pits) - gravel/rock yards (look for the piles of gravel etc - they will often have a dozen or so filled bags beside the sand pile) you should pay about 25 or 30 baht per small sack or buy it by the m3 and get them to deliver it. don't try throwing the sacks in the boot/trunk of your sedan though, they are fairly heavy esp. if wet - CB
November 7, 200817 yr You should really use "Washed" sand. That is sand that has been - Erm! washed as normal building sand will make your kids dusty and dirty. Don't know if this kind of sand is available in LOS, you could try places that have sand for filtering (swimming Pools) or give the sand a good wash yourself before letting the kids loose in it.
