Hi! I'm a Chinese, 28. Work in Thailand for a Thai company for 5 years. The current company has much experiences in handling visa and work permit. And no trouble for me for the past years.

Now, I'm interested in another position of a Chinese capital firm in BKK. They would like to employ me also. However, they don't want to do visa and work permit for me. The firm wishs me can take care the both by myself.

How should I handle this?

Your advise will be highly appreciated.

For both Work Permit and Visa, they would have to be involved in some way because, for both, you will require a letter from them, in the first instance, offering you employment within their Company at ****baht per month. After that they will be required to give originals and copies of loads of Company documents including the list of shareholders and Company registration.

They will also be required to make sure your taxes and social fund payments are made every month while you are employed by them and be seen to be employing four Thai's for your 1 Work Permit. Also, when you apply for your Work Permit they will be required to justify why they wish to employ you and not a Thai National.

Is it that they just don't want to go to the effort of getting your Visa and Work Permit or is it that they don't want to pay for it?

If you really want to go and work for them, I suggest you speak to a Lawyer and he/she will tell you what paperwork is required. I'm not sure what they would charge in BKK for this but I think it's around 30,000 to 40,000 baht for the Work Permit. There a few Visa Companies around that will take care of you and send you outside the country to Penang or somewhere overnight to get your visa for a price also. The one's I know will charge around 12,000 baht which includes your flight, hotel, meals and visa. If you want multi-entry it will cost a little more, around 3000baht.
