bkkjames
Owing to the upcoming cremation ceremony of the king's sister this weekend, does anyone know if this Friday is a no alcohol day? From what I gather, you are looking at a dry weekend.
WinnieTheKhwai
Yes, including Friday. So I would suggest to do your shopping in time, hire a strimmer and make yourself useful in the garden.

Scott
The Thai gov't is better and finding reasons for me not to drink than I am at finding reasons to drink!
bkkjames
The Thai gov't is better and finding reasons for me not to drink than I am at finding reasons to drink! Then you two should marry each other - seems like a happy pair.
Scott
I would, but I am not sure just whose in charge of the gov't and I am sure not wanting to marry any minister who keeps limiting the drinking days!
eefoo
Surely, 'dry days' are only a problem if you have no warning? Given a heads-up it's no problem to have a fridgeful at home and sup through it. No?

Scott
Actually dry days are a problem for me. I don't drink at home. If I am going to drink, I like to go out. Almost every Friday, I meet a friend at a local watering hole and we have a nice long chat, drinks and then eat and go home. A very pleasant evening. Unless of course they are voting, dying or whatever.

Scott, do what I am gonna do is pretend Thursday is Friday this week, only problem is instead of having a hangover to deal with in the quiet of my home, I will have my Thai staff yacking in my ear all day to make it even more pleasurable. As my wife will no doubt say, "Som Nom Na Dear"
