rossigee
Where do farangs buy their knives and forks? It seems that all Thai cutlery stores I've ever come across, in Bangkok and 'upcountry', only sell Thai cutlery - i.e. forks and spoons, and sometimes chopsticks. I guess there must be specialist cutlery shops selling farang cutlery hidden down some dark alley somewhere, but I've never seen one. Can anyone point me to them? I've got plenty of forks, but I'm running out of knives to put the butter on my toast and eat my bacon and eggs with Ta, -- Ross
ozsamurai
Wait till your next trip home and go to Ikea, thats what we ended up doing, sounds daft, but the stuff here was too expensive and not that good. At least we have a SET now.. Oz

sceadugenga
I brought my cutlery set from Australia. I was bending that many forks here I was starting to feel like Uri Geller.

bonobo
I realize this response is a little late, but there are a number of small shops on the soi leading to the Oriental Hotel. These shops have nicely made and reasonably-priced cutlery. I got my cutlery that I use in the US at one of those shops, although I still need to make a stop there to get some for my place here in Thailand. bkkjames
Hi there, as I mentioned in my earlier post, there is great little shop in JJ market that sells top quality stainless steel (heavy) cutlery in the dishes, pots and pans section, very easy to find. The one's i picket up were 120 baht each but can negotiate a bit if you are buying large quantities. Great selection.

mdechgan
5th floor emporium. I recommend the zwilling henckel silverware. Top of the line but also top price. Sets cost between 5,000 to 15,000 baht but they are worth it.
callum06
I would advise a trip to the Sherton on Sukhumvit road for a buffet and then add the cutlery to a spare bag
bruceboy
By looking around, JJ can be an excellent buy!
taxexile
i cannot believe that someone has to come on to a forum and ask where to buy knives and forks in koh samui. Central Chidlom / Emporium for expensive stuff. but go to JJ Market IMO they also sell nappies and dummies in case you cant find those either.
