Downloaded the forms and couldn't get sig. in box. just a standard sig. nothing special just a high loop on the 'f'. Thing is I alter it and the sig. comes out all wrong. Anyway,I think I got there at the 12th attempt. Kind of metaphoric, can't be myself I just don't fit in the box.

Am I right in thinking this passport renewal is just a 14 day job?

Any other monkey tricks to be aware of?

Can anyone tell me the procedure from when I hand the form in?

It takes 10 working days.

Make sure your photos are to spec too (the photo place over the road from the embassy knows the score) :o

If you have your old PP and apply in person just fill in the form and hand it over with the fee, no need to get the piccies 'certified'.

Either collect new PP or get it mailed EMS for a nominal fee, your old PP will be returned to you with the corners of the cover removed to invalidate it, UK don't cut the pages so any visas remain valid.

You should receive a letter with your new PP asking immigration to transfer your stamps (you must do this, you can't just roll up at the airport with an entry stamp in a cancelled PP).

I didn't get this letter from the embassy, but got it off the British Consul in Jomtien called Mr. Kerry Banyon (free of charge). All in all no problems, just expensive for a passport considering.

Great thanks for the info guys I owe you a few beers. Hope I can return the favour one day.

The transfer of existing stamps is important I think as I am staying here on the basis of a rolling visa extension as I am suing somebody in Thailand over a property dispute (long story). So basically, I roll up at Suan Plu they raise their eyebrows, I say not my fault your courts are absurd, they agree, stamp my passport with leave to stay for 90 days and I'm off again.

So how do I go about getting the stamps transferred to new pasport? You mentioned a letter of transfer or similar?
