Quite straight forward really.

And I am not asking: "Do you think their should be a coup?", or "Would you support a coup?", only whether or not you think that there will be one.

Personally I am inclined to answer yes.

I know that alot could hinge on the courts on the 2nd, but then it is hardly likely to be that straight forward in the LOS and we can hardly expect Somchai and the PPP to step down now can we?

And so with the courts and the PPP either unable or unwilling to resolve the matter, and with violence escalating on an almost daily basis I think that it will get to the point where the army will be negligent if they do nothing.

Oh, and by military coup I mean that standard military moving in to take power and not this 'silent' coup stuff (which I suspect may to an extent already have happened).

*EDIT*

This was supposed to be a poll!!!!!!! I dunno what happened to it.

i'd imagine that they'd like to have violence first, so they don't look as bad. If they can't incite the government to remove the protesters perhaps Sondi will have a couple of very large bombs go off at the PAD rallies.

ultimately though, if PAD does not leave after Dec 2, I guess a coup is the only remaining end game. Pretty clearly that this cannot end with PPP winning.

This is the coup capital of SE Asia. Of course there will be a coup. The question should be When will there be a coup?

A coup may be avoided if the courts dissolve PPP within the next few days, a definite possibility. Sounds better than a coup to moi.

Although dissolution will trigger a Red Shirt insurrection which may then need a coup to restore order, so it could come either way.

True that. Or perhaps the yellow shirts could go in hiding so that the reds won't have anyone to attack.

Hmmm maybe the red shirt rally in BKK tonight will turn into a nasty situation, I know an army reservist who has been called to the barracks.
