Handyman ?

Does anyone know of maybe a farang retiree with handyman skills wanting something to do now and then. I am based in Singapore and have a villa in cherngtalay which needs care and attention. Whenever we need anything doing I feel the costs are usually high and unless I am there the quality of the work varies from poor to disgraceful. I seem to spend a lot of my visiting time getting stressed over maintenance issues (which somewhat defeats the object of having the place !)

General upkeep, painting, staining wood, keeping me advised of things etc. someone i could trust and who would take some pride in the work and not rip me off !

Am I dreaming ?

Well if your wanting a "retiree" to do the work are you expecting quality !!?? I'm guessing the average retiree in Cherntalay wouldn't be too interested in an odd job pay day .

There are a miraid of companies that can carry out the work for you , but they do say you get what you pay for .

could try a company called Phuket Handyman , not cheap but do a good job and european run.

P.S

not affiliated in any way just know they are pretty respected for the work they carry out.

Am I right in assuming that you will arrange a work permit for the "farang retiree with handyman skills"? A work permit is needed for whatever type of work.

Of course keestha!  Do you really believe that?  He's looking for a retiree who is bored with sitting around and doing nothing.  When my parents come out to visit my dad can't wait to get started on projects around my house such as painting, sanding, renovating and whatever else.  He's not in it for the money, nor would a random retiree be, but rather something to do to keep themselves busy.

Is what I do with my parents legal, I'd bet it is as it's just self renovation, but I'm sure there would be plenty of naysayers disagreeing.  Is what OP looking for legal, probably not, but I'm sure there are some good people out there looking to stay busy in their golden years that would be happy to trade some work for a few cold beers.

If it works out for all parties, great.

Yeah exactly.. I have a few bits of service to get done on the car, so looking for someone not in it for the money, just something to keep themselves busy, so they are not bored sitting around doing nothing, etc..

After that theres some drainage ditches he could dig round the back of the house.. :o
