I'm dreaming to move to Thai for at least few years and write few books :o 

Looking for some quite, silent, beautefull and safe place, near whater. Ready to pay for rent house ~1k$/month. Need also good internet connection.

Can you advice me pelase where to stay?Islands? Which one? Other places?

I take it then the books you intend to write will not be in the English language ?? :o

with that money you can get any medium size and quality house anywhere in thailand, including bangkok area or on a waterfront on any island, just bearing in mind to keep as far as possible from touristy areas, because of the noise and inflated charges.

cheaper for rental and all other services would be on a mainland rather than islands, there are many costal resorts, for example Hua Hin (2 hours drive south of bangkok).

unless you are retired or married to thai a visa for several years might be an issue
