Poodle Toilet Troubles

Featured Replies

Hi All,

We bought a locally produced poodle as a pup, she is great but we can't seem to toilet train her. I read on the internet how to toilet train a pup but as soon as I went to work my family disregarded the instructions and the dog now does her business in the house and refuses to go outside. What can I do? Help plz.

if you have a garden just keep it all the time there when you are not home, untill the pup grows up and will learn to do it's business outside.

if you can't educate your family than it's only a hard way to train your puppy

Agree with training the family first to provide a consitant message being delivered to the dog.

Over time the dog will understand that it is allowed to 'go' anywhere it chooses and humans must 'go' elsewhere - therefore it must be the master dog within the pack, you may have other behavior problems later.

Many say that hitting a dog is wrong if the dog has an indoor accident, simply slap the nearest family member. (Or rub their nose it it - the family member's nose not the dog's.)

If family can not be taught - you need to secure the dog outside.

(...or change the family - take them to a Wat and dive off - your dog will miss the other family members for a while but give the puppy a small meaty bone and make a fuss and the puppy will get over them quickly.)
