Coronavirus, And Why Is It Not Included In The Dappi?

Featured Replies

We brought our mini dachshund to Bangkok from London about 2 months ago. He is a year old and at the time of importation had all his; however his Dappi vaccine expires this month so I took him to Chulalongkorn Vet Facility for the update 2 weeks ago.

THey gave him the Dappi vaccine; however the vet said that the coronavirus is not included in the Dappi shot in THailand. I looked up what it is and to me is seems quite important to have it. Can anyone tell me why it was/is not given? Should I go to someone else and have it done separately?

Thanks.

Hi,

I am not sure if they have coronavirus vaccinations available in Thailand. Your dog's immunity will not have vanished from the last vaccination. If you walk your dog on the streets and he has some contacts with other dogs: they build up some street immunity. A bit like kids playing with other kids. If kept toatally isolated then it's another question.

You can always inquire with other veterinary clinics.

On another topic: don;t miss going to The Rose Garden this weekend: great opportunity for a walk in a park with your dog: large dog/petshow. Good interactions.
