Tot - Sending E-mails

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am a TOT user (have no choice, TRUE does not want to invest here)

this morning I tried to send an e-mail which did not succeed

no warning or anything but when pinging the smtp server and trying to visit the http site

I saw a text in Thai (the misses translated) that I have to register now to send mail ...

the thing is

1) the do not allow to use port 25 -> I cannot check my mails directly from mail.[mycompany].com to start with (was no issue with TRUE before I moved)

2) register for what? to be checked even more ... this internet with TOT for international sites which I use (no interest in thai sites) is already terribly SLOW getting 5 to 0 KB/sec for sites outsite Thailand (big ripp off in their info)

anyone else having problems trying to send out messages since today ?

I read a story somewhere about an underground or undersea cable being damaged for broken and that internet services in thailand were being effected. I also couldnt send email last night. Aparently its not just tot that are effected, sorry i can't help anymore than that, I don't understand how this whole dam_n thing works.

TOT blocks the SMTP port (which is used by sending mail) You have to configure your SMTP server to use an alternate port, use Gmail (which uses a non-standard port) or use the TOT SMTP server, which is sometimes unreliable.

The TOT SMTP server is smtp.totisp.net
