Has anybody here done any business in Laos?

Sunbelt, do you have any dealings or experience in that country?

Thanks for any input you can offer.

Cheers,

I I have a friend that is working on a resort deal in Laos. He holds Lao, Thai and Canadian passports and his father was a high ranking Loa Government type, so maybe his dealing are not that relevant. From talking to him i think there is a very good chance that you can develop a business there, there is also the a very good chance that you can step on landmines, both literally and physically.

I've heard that slow is the operative word when it comes to the needed paperwork, but not alot regarding the general economics of it.

cdnvic, thanks for the reply.

I've heard S-L-O-W also.

I've also heard that they are a little confused as the burocrats have no biz experience and few clues as to how biz actually operates.

Small gifts "for the children" are much appreciated also.
