I'm looking into buying an Archos PMP (605 wifi or the recently released IMT) .

Anyone buy Archos products in Thailand? If so, where ?

By old models, do you mean used, or discontinued?

They have the 605 series but not the archos 5 or archos 7 newest models.

I personally would order from Scott. Delivery in 3 days

Actually, the 605 is what i'm looking for. I've got legacy gen4 periphs that work with the 605.

Did you see any new 605s at Fortune? if so, remember where?

I've got reasons for staying in country.

However having said that having used the Archos 5 it leaves the 605 for dead well worth getting hold of.

The guys over at cnet weren't overly impressed with the Archos 5, though I'm still waiting for reviews on the Archos 7.

I once had an Archos remote CD read/write drive. I would not work with Windows XP. I could not find new drivers for it on the Internet so I emailed Archos. They informed me quite rudely that they had no intension of developing new drivers and that I should buy a later model drive. I have not looked or considered Archos products since.

Try ebay UK and have it sent. I have just bought a Archos 405 2gb. a brilliant little media player. If you like pm me for further details

Thanks for the tip, never would've found the Archos without your help. Shops on the 3rd floor of Fortune. Unfortunately they didn't have any 605s left. Did have

the 705 Wifi though. Asking 21,500 for the 160GB version. I'm tempted but would rather have the 605. 705 is pretty big but also has lower screen quality(fewer colors and thus lower contrast) than the 605.

Anybody know if they got Archos products over at Pantip?(If so appx where is the shop/what's the shop name?)

yeah, i think it's $50 or so

what did you have them put on the package to avoid customs, i'v never ordered anything from outside thailand before so am unsure on how to avoid customs

tell him (Scott) to put the package value down as $100.00 you will pay about 10% to customs and VAT on delivery. however the danger is if fedex lose it they will only compensate $100.00 - having said that in 15 years of using fedex and DHL they have never lost anything.
