Hello PUMAFOREVER1, if it's to buy, I don't think you can find it for sale in LOS? The NZ home site is where I've seen it and Growing Edge mag US, has it for sale on line. The 2000 also does fertilizer for dirt.

I thought that it just did the calculations for formulas and things, I didn't know that it had crop specific formulas. Have you looked at the book: Hydroponic Capsicum Production by Dr. Lynette Morgan, It might give you some info on formulation. At one time, Accent in BKK sold the book. There address and phone is listed on one of the other hydro threads.

Hello PUMAFOREVER1, I reread both Suntech(Nutron 2000) and Growing Edge adds and yes it does 'Provides recommendations for nutrient formulas', but it didn't go into details. The Nutron looked like it would be useful till I got to "Windows only", I don't want it that bad, I'm still banging away on a 10 Y-O Mac G3.

Nutron 2000: http://www.suntec.co.nz/nutron.htm and http://www.growingedge.com/store/books_mul...ltimedia.php%3F

While still looking around I went back to Resh's pepper info:

http://www.howardresh.com/hydroponic-culture-peppers1.html Which gives some breakdown into nutes for peppers. On the Hydroponic Nutrient thread, someone posted a url for a free online nute calculator, and there are several other's that can be found with a web search.

I have in the past used Hydro Gardens in the US as an info source. They have nutes that are used for peppers: PEPPER FORMULA 11-11-40 Mixing Instruction for 100 gallons of water(Full strength working solution) and their only change in the formula from Seedling to Mature Plants is the Calcium Nitrate (CaNO3)

6 oz. / .375 lbs. to 8 oz. / .5 lbs. and pH Adjust to 6.2 - 6.5 Adjust to 5.8 - 6.2

Conductivity

1350 ppm + source water 1.60 mhos + source water

1500 ppm + source water 2.20 mhos + source water

"We HIGHLY recommend that you get a tissue analysis monthly so we can keep track of your plants uptake of fertilizers".

Along the same line just for info: Chemical Analysis of Water,Nutrient, Leaf, and Media Samples

We highly recommend that you get a leaf sample analysis at least once per month. You need to establish a set of records that indicate the fertilizer requirements of your plants at different stages of plant growth as they react to your water and the various seasons of the year. When you receive the results from the lab, call us at (719) 495-2266, or request that a copy of the results be sent direct to us for recommendations. Our recommendations can be more valuable to you with lab results.

It is extremely important to get timely, correct and complete results. It is also very important to obtain the correct recommendations to take advantage of the results you have obtained.

PLANT SAMPLE SELECTION

Randomly select twelve plants from each greenhouse to be tested. Select those plant throughout the house that are representative of the majority of the plants. Do not take a sample from a plant that is obviously not representative. Break the fifth or sixth limb from the top of the plant counting the top of the plant as one. Place all he leaves in paper "mailer" or paper sack and box them for shipping with proper information. (DO NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS, THE LEAVES WILL MOLD).

WATER AND NUTRIENT

Samples should be in plastic bottles (8 oz. minimum). Label each sample with your name and address, whether water or nutrient, age of the plants, variety, type of nutrient used, symptoms if any, feeding schedule, weather conditions, type of growing media used, and any other pertinent information. Please contact them prior to shipment of samples for proper analysis forms and prices.

In the coming New year, here in Korat I will check at the upcoming Ag Show(Jan 09) with their hydro people to see if they can do this, and at the Ag Dept at the college 1/3 of the way from the bus factory to Thai Immigrations, the wife has a friend that works in the soil testing dept.

A long the way searching for the Nutron again, I ran across this, some of it's of no use to most of of us, but it has A LOT of info on nutes for flowers and some for veggies, some good reference tables. http://www.ghsinc.net/pdf/53120-Total-Gro-book.pdf
