I AM VISITING SAMUI IN FEBRUARY CAN ANYONE PLEASE ADVISE IF SMOKING IS STILL ALLOWED IN BARS/RESTERAUNTS ON SAMUI AND/OR THAILAND IN GENERAL

Yes and no most of Samui bars are open fronted so smoke is not an issue (my opinion)

Bangkok and other closed bars then smoking is banned.

Does thi smean you will cancel your holiday if smoking is allowed?

many thanks for your quick response. As a smoker I will not be cancelling even if smoking was banned I just wanted reassurance I could still smoke in bars etc.

As far as I can see here at the mo, smoking is allowed everywhere, even in bars that aren't all open air. I have yet to see anywhere where it's restricted.

In the short time I've been back in Bangkok it's No Smoking in airconned venues and ok

in street bars & outside venues.

Fortunately, commonsense has prevailed. :o

Thank you all for your reassuring responses I can now rest assured that I can smoke (ignoring how bad it is for my health) in nearly all the establishments I shall be visiting. Regards Teuchter
