Lazada verification now only by sms ?

Featured Replies

It used to be email verification too.

I didn't log in for 5 months and now every time

they send sms .

I don't seen a choice in my profile to change it

back to email.

The website has changed too , not as good as before.

At least they don't block you out after a couple of searches

when you're NOT logged in , like shopee.

I think it just comes down to individual preference - Its not 'harder' to use the Apps...  It's just a lot easier to read everything on laptop sized screen...  its easier to see the images, zoom in, c

I think they prefer you to use the app. or their system is now geared more that way.

I always use Lazada on the PC to scroll through listings, but use the app to place orders, so I can get discounts. I order very little from Lazada lately, because most of the stuff has to be returned for one or another reason.

If I haven't logged in for a long time I also get that sms request, but there is an option to select a different method

Do you know where that option is ?

I can't find it.

I have no smartphone.

Of all I have bought on Lazada the last years , I'm 95 % satisfied.

You get what you paid for. Some low priced lemons , is not a problem.

The problems with the Apps - is that they are just too noisy to be comfortably navigable.

I only ever use Apps when I'm away from home, otherwise everything is carried out on the laptop - its just easier to use.

The issue of course is that so many vendors and business in Thailand have become almost purely App orientated.

So... For Lazada, Shopee and most others, Amazon etc - I prefer to use the Computer, I too end up having to go through a verification process from time to time... i.e. OTP, but there is also an E-mail verification option - so its not a major hassle.

I don't know for sure, as I currently don't get that message, but if I recall correctly, at the right end of where you have to enter your phone number, there is an arrow (very small) where you can click and a pop up with "select another option" will appear.

I find them easy, you just have to get used to them

The Apps also have pop-ups which the websites don't have.

Also, staring at phones too long is bad for the eyes. Screens are too small.

But maybe 90% of Thais don't even own a laptop.

Just tried to login.

Was met with a flashing login page, reloaded browser same. After a few reloads got this and no way to get to the login page anymore.

Maybe Lazada should hire someone else than somtam sellers to do their webpage maintenance.

Have you confirmed? Logging in is just ph. no. and password. Every now and again this pops up but it's just a security layer.

Lazada has plenty of phones. The Redmi 9c is pretty nice and very affordable.

I use Lazada the other way round. Search on the app and save things in the wish list. Then use the online version in a browser with translation ability to get the details and check it is what I want, move to cart and buy, either online or via the app later. Their website search is rubbish compared to their app.

If the OP gets the app, he can authenticate an oniine sign-in via the app. Faster than sms method.

I am getting exactly the same ie flashing when I try to use Lazada on my PC which is where I order from them

What is going on?

I can log into Lazada on my tablet...

When ordering anything big on say 7/7 8/8 etc you have to use the phone app as you can often get very big discounts not available on a PC.

The Thais that helped me set up a new account after the blocking of accounts July last year ,

get that SMS and confirmed, then I was automaticly logged in on my computer.

BUT lazada keeps asking sms confimation, and I don't want that person bothered everytime

I want to log on.

I want it like before , via email.

And no , I do not want a phone.

I hate those things, and the telcoms.

After the issues with the flashing login screen, which is still the same today, I was able to login with another browser on the same PC.

Since I never used that browser for Lazada I got the security verification screen, and can confirm there is no email option any more.

Only SMS and app, as I think they detected already that I have the app on my phone.

Deleting Lazada cookies in my browser fixed it

I had to do security verification yesterday......did it by email, not SMS.

I use a pc, and things have been going fine for at least a year. The only thing I've noticed is an annoying change to the page for tracking your orders. The font has gone GIGANTIC, making it impossible to see at a glance where it is. I've minimized the web page font size as much as possible, it still sucks a wet fart. Anyone else notice that?

I think you might be right - though I suspect there is a culture aspect to it...

For example: I'm perfectly fine with using Spotify, Amazon and Banking Apps on my phone...  they seem to be designed well and are not what I'd call 'noisy'...  but Lazada and shopee etc have pop-ups and 'noise' I have to bypass before I can get into typing what I'm looking for - they are messy Apps IMO...  Japanese-centric apps and websites are 10x worse which is odd given the minimalist nature of their culture in general.

Then the age thing really comes in when using sites such as this forum - I much prefer not to read or type on my phone.

The same with WhatsApp and Line Messaging - I'll respond on my laptop rather than deal with all the typing on my phone (it probably makes a difference that I can type extremely quickly on querty keyboard).

Great comment ! Thanks , that really helped .

Luddite, which refers to someone who opposes technological change or destroys machines.

Now if I'm a luddite , would I have a computer and be on the internet ?

I have other electronics too, some pretty new and I haven't destroyed anything.

I just don't want a smartphone , or any other mark of the beast for that matter.
