I am a physician whose wife is Thai. I have previously planned a two week visit to her extended family in Bangkok, to begin at the New Year. Since the tsunami has struck, I have wondered whether there is any need for an english speaking farang doctor to help out in the south. Let me know if anyone has any leads or knows of any specific needs. I would like to help, if I am needed.

Thanks, Jim

I've just read from a Thai webboard. Nok Air executive said that they have been flying physicians down to Phuket. Ask for their Duty Manager at the airport at least 2 hours before departure time. They'll get you a seat.

God bless you, Jim.

I would expect the good Doctor ca afford a seat to Patong.....I'm sure an english speaking Dr. will go well there....Grap all the rubber gloves and get thee to the south Doc!

Don't forget Krabi, and some of the outlying areas nearby. They may not have the medical help that Phuket is recieving. I'm sure that regardless of how you get there, you'd be very welcome.

Maybe one of the clubs getting relief supplies together (see 'expats wanting to help' @ top of the disaster forum) will work with you in ensuring you have supplies.

Good luck, and Thank You

Hi LC.

The nokair site 'appears' to be down.

Could you post a contact number, if possible.

thanks.

Hi udon,

Nok Air's phone number:

Booth at the airport : 02 535 7541

Call Center : 1318

Khun Seehabhan (Nok Air Exec) will be standing by at the airport this evening for sure as they are flying 150 volunteers to Phuket tonight.

Cheers.
