Cinema Recomendations (near Silom)

Featured Replies

i was wondering if there are any decent cinemas in bkk besides mbk - near silom in possible. if not, what about places which are dead easy to get to via sky train, mrt or buses. are there any online resources to find out what films are showing, or is this stuff only available in newpapers.

secondly, is there a chance that there are any decent movies screening right now. any recomendations? i sure miss decent tv and cinema living in the los. and what about special pricing deals - know of any?

This is the link to Movie Seer Thailand;

http://www.movieseer.com/Index.asp?Channel=2

It shows all the films at the major cinemas, gives show times, addresses, and contact numbers. It is fairly accurate most of the time.

There is always Paragon Cineplex, which is close to MBK and also accessible by Skytrain. Here is a link to a map of the area (click on the map to get a bigger image).

Wow your lack of knowledge is astounding! At least decent theatres? Ive never seen theatres as nice as they have here, hehe I would much prefer to go to a movie in Bangkok then back home, its 10 times more nice and convenient and comfortable.... dont know how you could miss the movie experience here... and consider MBK a good theatre? You need to get out and explore a bit my friend.

Ok Top theatres you must check out immediately:

PARAGON, besides regular super nice theatres they have the imax which is an incredible HUGE screen, if you can see even a regular movie on that it is alot of fun. They also have the deluxe theatres which you can also find at siam discovery and a few other places which involves a single or double loveseat for 2 that is a large lazyboy that reclines and vibrates with a remote control and personal blanket and pillow (used to give socks but not sure anymore) Siam station BTS

Cetral World has 2 sets of theatres, make sure you go to the new ones on the top floor (7), they have different types of screens there too but even the regular ones are very nice. Chitlom or Siam Stations BTS, walk on overhead walkway to get to entrance.

Emporium has some pretty nice theatres and I actually go there alot for convenience. (Phromphong station)

After that there is a long list of theatres all over Bangkok but in my opinion those 3 are the top. MBK is one of the last theatres I would want to go to. Kind of place you bring a girl on the side so your real girl who is used to better doesnt catch you.

great, thanks for your advice and opinions. i will consider them. however, given that you hardly know the first thing about me, i can't understand why you needed to add the first paragraph. :o

I was just being silly but if you dont know places like Paragon and Emporium then yes you really do need to go and explore other sides to Thailand that you have been missing.
