Hi,

My friend and I are looking at moving to Thailand for an extended period beginning in March. We are trying to decide which area would be best to settle in. Not really interested in the whole Bangkok vibe. Our 1st choice at the momoent is looking like Krabi. It seems to have a nice balance of culture, acceptance of tourists and cost.

Phuket seems slightly more touristy and hectic and a bit more expensive and Koh Tao (+ neigbouring areas) seems extremely beautiful but also expensive.

Could anyone give further advice on cost of living, hiring villa's etc by area.

We are looking for a 2 bed place, A/C, preferably with pool and pretty close to the social / night life and within 1km of the beach.

We are both late 20's early 30's, can enjoy the tourist thing but don't want to be overwhelmed by it. Definitely looking for good beaches, quietish area, decent ex-pat community where English is understood.

ANy other tips or info would be great!
