After i get my work permit i go to Immigration to get my Non Imm B visa extended for the period applied for. Do i need a certain amount of days left on that Non Imm B to get the extension? Time is running down as i wait for documents and i need to check how long i have left.

There is no minimum time but you should try to do it at least a week early. Just in case there is problem you would still have time to get it sorted out.
