Extension Tourist Visa In Thailand

Featured Replies

I am currently in Pattaya right now. Will be on board a train to Bangkok on Thursday which i will stop over for 2 days (staying in Sukumvhit) before going Issan for some work. I need to get my visa extended due to some bad eggs here in the private sector which delayed my stay.

I currently hold a Single Tourist Visa (60 Days) but need to get it extended, from what i know (correct me if i am wrong) i should get another 30days at the immigration. Which is what fits nicely for me now.

Question is where do i go to get it probably in Bangkok nearer to Sukumvhit and how much do i have to pay for it and the time needed for approval ??? I know the visas are free for now but how about extensions cost ?

Lastly i have not booked a ticket yet for my next destination due to some complications from my company so i do not currently have an onward ticket and would that be a problem ???

Thanks in advance for the replies. And is there anything i need to look out or prepare for the extension ?

You can get a 30 day extension at immigration in Bangkok.

You will need to fill out a TM7 fprm, one photo and copies of your passport photopage, visa, entry/permit to stay stamps and TM6 (departure card). It costs 1900 baht and how long it takes will depend upon how busy it is at immigration when you go. You don't need to show a ticket.

When u mean the process is defined base on how busy but i need to know on usual process will it take more than a day or more or just within the day ?

Same day. It could be less than hour or several.

Best to get there early. About 8 AM should be good.

You don't need to show a ticket.

Are you 100% sure this is the case now?

I'm asking because the last time I applied for an extension (at Jomtien) was June last year, and to be on the safe side I always brought a ticket with me. I'll be needing an extension again in March. I'd hate to end up with 7 days due to not having proof of onward travel as they have done in the past.

Last report I recall for Bangkok was that no ticket was shown.

before going Issan for some work.

Note that you cannot work on a tourist visa.

You need a non-immigrant visa and workpermit.
