Ok, so i have the work permit. I went to immigration to get a list of what i need for an extension of stay. It says i need tax receipts for the 1st year of working here. I am still in my 1st year of working here, i am at my 2nd school but have not completed close to working a full year. Do i need to take any tax receipt? Does this apply to only those in their 2nd year of work? If i need a tax receipt from my previous place of work do i need to travel the length of the country to get it from my previous local tax office? Answers to any of these questions are appreciated!

Are you sure they are not asking about your employer's information (tax records etc.). The extension should be based on their information if I understand your question correctly.

They'll want to see your tax payments for the part of last year that you worked.

Your employers are supposed to give you a form showing your salary and any deductions such as for tax and social security.

With that form you should be able to pay your taxes at any tax office.

The tax office will also need your tax number.

They'll give you a receipt, even if you don't owe anything, that you take to immigration when you file for extension.

Are you married to a Thai? If you are just get an extension of stay based on marriage.

That would only solve his problems if he had 400,000 on a Thai bankaccount. Otherwise immigration would still want to see tax documents from his salary in Thailand.

They might even ask for it when he would use the money in the bank option but find out he is working in Thailand to check if everything is legit.

My previous employers don't have anything like that and as they are at the other end of the country from me now it is difficult to push them on this matter. Any other ideas how to get these details. Would my new local tax office be able to get my tax number from my passport number?

You should of been given a tax ID card that was issued by ther revenue department.

Your former employer should be able to fax some information to you that can be taken to the tax office.

I hope they were deducting taxes every month or you might have a big problem.

You could go to the local tax office and see if they can get your ID number by doing a name search.
