Musk targets Social Security with blatant misinformation
Where's the misinformation? All I see is scary propaganda put out by the Far-Left-Wing The Hill. The Hill is part of the problem, not part of the solution. Musk is running an anti-corruption campaign for the Trump administration. For example, if the spreadsheet below by Musk is true, than it either is exemplifying gross incompetence by SSA, or it is exemplifying gross corruption of the system - people older than the United States are marked as "Alive" in the SSA system? For chrissake, get real! Either way, funds are being misused. Any funds being paid out to dead people or foreign nationals who obtained the benefits illegally all impacts the solvency of the Social Security system. Corruption and inefficiency needs to be eliminated so that they SSA system can remain solvent and be able to pay out the Social Security benefits you paid into all of your life and now have earned in return to take care of you in your old age. Corruption needs to end. Paying out hundreds of billions of USD in fraudulent payments needs to end. The US financial system need to be put into order. Stopping fraudulent SSA paying in turn strengthens the SSA system and keeps it solvent in order to pay benefits to "elderly" people like you and I have paid into the system all of our lives and earned our benefits. Am I personally worried about "Musk and Trump ending Social Security." No, not at all. Social Security will always be a "third-rail" issue for American politics. Want to lose an election? Putting 60 million or so elderly US citizens on the street is a sure-fired path to losing the Presidency and Congress and creating a social backlash that would possibly destroy the US. Unlike you OP, I want to see the SSA reformed, I want to see illegal and fraudulent payments ended, I want to see "Dead" people identified and taken out of the system, and I want to see the system put into working order - for the benefit of those of us who are legitimate US citizens and who worked all of our life's to earn those benefits. -

As importantly, everyone is entitled to legal representation before any court criminal or civil. It’s not a right that any conviction removes. -

Things I Don't Like
I don't like the sight, taste, smell, or texture of mayonnaise. Also not fond of gum or loud people. Close-talkers are very annoying. My nightmare is somebody talking too loud, right in my face, while chewing stinky old gum, with leftover mayonnaise sticking to the corners of their mouth. -

Anyone on a ketogenic diet whilst living here in Thailand?
That's like many bodybuilding guidelines. Nothing to do with any area. These diet books just copied bodybuilders and thought up a new name. Scammers. -

How to reduce the risk of insurance claim denials?
Agreed... its a delicate 'game'... But the 'long termers' are not here for medical treatment, though, it might attract those who are otherwise detracted due to their medical conditions. I think 'long termers' and 'tourists' could be treated differently from a medical insurance perspective - where tourists are required to show 'travel insurance'... and anyone with a visa has already paid into the national system and receives an insurance card. I believe this would be a workable solution - medically elective treatment to be held at the government hospital closest to your home - this would mean the 'elderly expats' have some cover. Emergency treatment at 'any hospital' (as per law - for at least 72 hours) - this avoids hospitals kicking out people through no cover etc. As they should... I believe medical health care to be a basic human right. But, of course, it must be paid for - I don't see anything wrong in contributing to the national system ( a fair amount ) in much the same way, foreign nationals have to pay the NHS surcharge.
