February 4, 200917 yr Hi, I have a Non-Imm B visa and WP which is due for renewal in a few months, a Filipino teacher at my school has just told me I will need to show a tax receipt proving that I paid my taxes this year in order for me to get the WP renewed and visa extension, is this correct? I have never heard of this before. Thanks in advance

February 4, 200917 yr Yes you need to show a tax receipt. Your employer should be deducting taxes already from your pay and you should already have a tax ID number. For info on personal income taxes see this website: http://www.rd.go.th/publish/6045.0.html
February 4, 200917 yr Even if your employer doesn't deduct taxes - mine doesn't - you still pay independently at year's end and collect a tax receipt. Hang onto all of them if you plan to apply for permanent residency as immigration wants to see at least three years of tax returns and receipts.
February 4, 200917 yr - Copy of Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Labour and alien income tax or Por Ngor Dor 91 (only in the case where applicant has previously worked in Thailand). Source: MFA
