Thaiboxer1
Hi, Read on the boards that importing Rottweillers is forbidden. I'm moving back to Thailand from Canada and just can't stomach leaving my 11yr old Rottie behind. Can someone clarify if I can bring my Rottweiller into Thailand? Thx

I'll stick to sweet, safe dogs thanks.

Don't believe the hype, don't become a sheep..... I heard the same thing actually, the Thai authorities have restricted the importation of guard dogs...especially Rotts...The best thing would be to check with the agricultural departement in Bangkok or/and the airline which you will be using...The Don Muang airport also has a vetenarial service( Of course!!), you might want to check with them....In my personal experience it is on a case by case system..Considering your dog is 11 yrs old and more of a pet then a guard dog, they might allow it. Insight
It'd be head of the soi. You wouldn't hear a squeak from the other soi dogs when he/she moves into the block...

As far as the research I have done so far, I've contacted Mr. Dickinson who was referred to me by the Toronto Thai Consulate. He is checking into this matter with Ottawa and so far tells me there is no restrictions on importing a Rottweiler. I'll update when confirmed.
