Journalist
-Anti alcohol lobby -New cocktail discovery -Romanian ATM scam -Enraged Aussie -Milk samples As a cross-section, its pretty dull stuff. There was a topic attracting interest about a murder/suicide conundrum, but that was 'closed' awaiting new information. There is a lot going on. At the time of writing, the Red mob is descending on Parliament House, and there is no topic opened to reflect that. To have a news product that is generating interest, you have to have a pipeline of breaking stories. "You're only as good as your last story". PhilHarries
As the forum is not part of the news media network it relies on someone picking up breaking news from anther website and starting a new thread. Not everyone can be everywhere at once so if you see something that you think worthy of discussion why not post it? As for the swinging head thread there was no new information coming out and it was just degenerating into an aimless guessing game.
Plus
Hmm, maybe it's because the best headline covering red protests was in notthenation: "40 red shirts seize bus stop". You are free to start a new topic in General and ask mods to move it to News if it's not covered yet.

If they did seize a bus stop at least it'd be showing some ingenuity. I mean, look at the amazing opposing ideas from the pro-Thaksin side so far... PAD have yellow shirts, UDD has red shirts (took some thought) PAD have hand clappers, UDD have feet clappers (and heart clappers - well outside the box there) PAD take over government house, UDD take over.... government house (rubbish. Zero marks) Even the names UDD and DAAD sound like they were coined after watching that scene in Life Of Brian. Still, at least it's one of the few circuses in the world you get paid to visit... Journalist
Today, i'd be inclined to run the encirclement of Government house by Thaksin's freedom army of national liberation and democracy as top story (and e mail bulletin). Instead of running the 'new cocktail' story as lead and not running the Government House story at all. Still, its always refreshing to see new editorial angles.
