Next week i will be applying for my 6th 1 year marriage visa in Pattaya. On previous occasions after i submit the application i am requested to report back after 1 month (Songkran time) and normally the visa is not ready and i have to return again until it has been received by the Pattaya immigration. I have found the Pattaya office to be pretty helpful in most cases with the only problem being the change of requirements every year?. My problem is the following

Applynext week .....probably be asked to return in 1 months time.

Cannot ....I HAVE to go to work (outside Thailand) on the 23rd for approx 6-7 weeks.

I am sure if i apply and request for a rush (even if i have to pay extra) to have my passport back before the 23th? or whether they will allow me to return after my work is complete to have my visa inserted into my passport?

Can anyone confirm either or share their experience on any of the above.

You are really reliant on Immigration in Bangkok sending it back to Pattaya. You should really have applied a bit earlier.

I cannot see them letting you return a month or two late. Only they can answer that. You are going to have to talk to them.

Most immigration will extend earlier then 1 month before the expiry date if there is a good reason. You will have to get a re-entry permit and extension of stay beyond the date you will return. Without either one you will have to apply for a new visa from abroad all over again.

He could always get a 60 day extension to visit his Wife and a Re Entry Permit then Re Apply for the 12 month extension when he returns. Assuming that Immigration will not accomodate him.
