Copperheaded Ratsnake (Elaphe radiata) One Thai name for this is ngu sa

It can be very active and aggressive, inflating its neck and striking when threatened, but is non-venomous. Snake shows use them for entertainment where they are known as 'jumping snakes'.

The cat does not look pleased.

Understandable, felines and reptiles are natural enemies so I am told.

Growing up in Kenya, we had a mean-as-hel_l tomcat that would tackle any snake and kill it. Its luck ran out when it came up against a 4-meter Python we had living in our garden at the time :o

I had a Chinese Shar-Pe here in Thailand.

She was far from mean and if anything she was soppy as hel_l, she was also very docile and playful and would play with any animal that she encountered.

Sadly one day she decided to choose a Cobra as a playmate.
