In For 180 Days And Out For 90 Days

Featured Replies

I have been trying to find info on the 180 - 90 day rule. Is it still in force? If so, do multiple visits accumulate? For example :

I arrived on 10th April 2008 and left 9th June 2008 = 60 days

Away for 156 days

Arrived on 13th November 2008 and left 18th February 2009 = 110 days.

Question. If I want to stay for the maximum 180 days next visit how soon can I go back to Thailand and what is the best visa to use? Last time I got a double entry 2 month visa from the Thai embassy in Adelaide (Australia) and did a Lao run after 59 days. Thanks,

No. It has been abolished.

However, entering by land only gets you a 15 day stamp if you have no visa, but entering by airport still gets you 30 (on most western passports).

Thanks for that

Yes. It is no more. As JT said only 15 days at a land border.

I'll be getting a visa in OZ before I arrive as usual but as I have never stayed for 6 months before can I get a 3 month double entry or is it a 2 month and 4 border runs @ 15 days a piece?

It will have a 3 month duration so with 2 extension you will get 6 months. You may even be able toget a triple entry.
