Question Regarding Marriage Visa Renewal

Featured Replies

I am due to renew my marriage visa (for the 7th time/7 years) next week, and was checking the Thai Immigration website for any updates. I saw that as of December 2008, they are now requiring...

"a certificate of no criminal record from the applicants domicile which must be officially certified by the Thai Consulate in that country, or the applicants Embassy located in Thailand, translated into Thai and certified by the official of the Department of Consular affairs...", etc.

My question is: Is this for 'new' applications only...or does it apply to renewals as well...?

There is also the request for a health certificate. Neither of these items has been a part of my previous applications. Anybody gone for a 'renewal' recently that can give me an update...much appreciated.

Thanks,

Thai Thai

No such requirement. You are quoting requirements for getting permanent residency, not for an extension based on marriage toi a Thai.

Note that the rules did changed and now the income has to be yours only. Alternatively you can use 400,000 in a Thai bank acount in your name. The rest of the documents needed did not change.
