Hi...

When in Bangkok I generally go to Patpong to pick up a few bargains.. "designer" jewellery, bags, etc (read: good quality fakes!).

I am hoping to find out if there is a less touristy market that I can go to to find these items.

About 5 years ago I used to know a few sellers downstairs at MBK and accross the road at Siam Square in a backalley that used to do these.. and lower prices when I purchased in bulk with not so much bartering but last year they were no longer there? Replaced by hard core retailers that won't budge an inch on price! (I don't mind saying lot noi dai mai with a big smile if it means I will get a better price! )

I have looked around at Pratunam and Chatuchak but it was more fabrics and homewares... not what I am looking for.

Can anyone help me with this?

The handbags they sell at Patpong etc... are bought wholesale from inside Pratunam or Bo Bae market.

Bo Bae is the best bet my girlfriend always goes the to buy cheap goods.
