Where To Buy 12-room 'switchboard' For Hotel?

Featured Replies

My Phuket hotel/guesthouse was wired for in-room telephones when we built it, but we never actually 'hung' anything on the other end of the telephone wire to complete the system!

Now I'm considering installing a 'switchboard' (either hardware or software or both) that would achieve the following:

- Allow incoming calls to be automatically routed through to reception or to the specific room (Eg 'Enter the room number for direct connection of press 0 to contact reception').

- Allow direct outbound calls from each room, but also support billing of these calls.

So it's maybe a mixture of hardware (to interface to the 12 room cables) and software (to support the billing etc).

In a shop in Phuket there is a hardware solution but it does not support billing...

Oh - and if the solution is too expensive, then it cannot be justified, bearing in mind the small number of rooms!

Perhaps there is some open-source solution that can be used with a simple hardware front-end??

Any suggestions mucho appreciated!

Consider using Asterisk soft PBX - there is a bootable ISO if you google for "trixbox"

Also would recommend putting a Home PNA switch - 16 ports come in around 150 bucks with modems at 20 each. Add to that some cheapo VOIP Adapters and you're off. This will essentially give you DSL services to your rooms and allow data over your existing wires phone lines.

Hi,

I just need a simple switchboard for our company (5 - 10 internal number).

Anybody know a good dealer in Pattaya, Bangkok, Chonburi, Sri Racha?

Thanks

Asterisk should be the way to go.

You can connect analog lines to the PBX using ATAs

Could be a little tricky to set up properly the system but that software is really amazing.

If you have a fast ADSL connection this will also save you a lot of money routing calls on VOIP
