lilly6 Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I arrived in Thailand a week ago and bought a 12call sim card which the lady at the 711 registered on my phone for me, i can recieve calls from the UK but I cant recieve any text messages whatsoever and the people trying to text me have tried all the numerous numbers to put before my number whilst texting, has anyone else had this problem? As i'm here for 3 months so I really need to be able to recieve these texts. Any help/advice will do! Thank you
britmaveric Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Well are they sms the correct #? +668 then the # dropping the zero in front.
lilly6 Posted March 30, 2009 Author Posted March 30, 2009 Hi Britmaveric thanks for your reply, yes thats right, they've tried that mainly but nothing seems to work unfortunatly.
webfact Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 have you ever considered it might be carrier related in the UK? I had a similar problem with SMS from Canada (BC). When my friends used Telus nothing did arrive, they used Shaw? I received the messages.
MKAsok Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Look in SMS (not MMS) set-up. Make sure the Service Center number is in there: +6618310808. Also, make sure any 'use GPRS' settings are turned off for SMS.
