Driving License Renewal

Featured Replies

It is time to renew my Thai driving license.

I understand that I require either a residency letter from my Consul or a statement from Chiang Mai Immigration. The difference being cost.

Can anyone tell me if Immigration will issue a statement if I am on a 'Non Immigrat "O"' type visa? Obviously I have no dealings with Chiang Mai Immigration on this type of visa.

Thanks for any help

Iain

Although Thai Immigration stopped issueing these letters for about a year they have resumed....much cheaper than your consul!

I believe that if you have a work permit (which many Type "O" visas do), you just need to bring the work permit with you to the renewal.

Are they issuing these to people with a 90 day entry on a non-immigrant visa? Thanks.
