The footage is downright scary and gives me chills just looking at it. Can't turn away because the science is so interesting.

As bad as some places in LoS got hit, and not to downplay innocent death and destruction, but the footage from LoS pales in comparison to the footage from Sri Lanka.

Lots of good info on the tsunami warning center in Hawaii and how accurate their predictive models can be. The documentary shows that their predictive models provided sufficient input to provide warnings to the east Africa coast, almost surely saving lots of lives.

Monday morning quarterbacking for sure, but with this knowledge base, it makes just that much more sense for the tsunami warning system.

Relatively minute disturbances from the tsunami were detected in all of the world's oceans. Geez, the amount of water that has to move to make that happen is just mind-boggling.

Look for replays of this documentary. It is quite an awesome piece of work.
