LostInBKK
denysza, Good question, I've often wondered that myself. I finally opened my own account at Bangkok Bank for that purpose, previously my wife and I were sharing a joint account at Bank Of Ayudhya. BAY wouldn't let me open my own personal account, BKK Bank did so I moved all of our accounts over.
lopburi3
Actually many officers are requiring the money be in account 3 months. They 'might' ask about the origin but that seems to happen less these days than in the past.
denysza
Also how long must the money remain in the account after the visa in granted?
Mario2008
After being granted your permission to stay in Thailand for 1 year you can take it out of your account. But don't forget to put it back in again 3 months before your next extension.
denysza
Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to remember to put the money back in the account before the next application.
