i need to get a new number plate for my car.

Can i get one from the dealership, or do i need to go to the land transport dept. to get it?

you need to go to land transport department for it.although some one can go to do it for you if you willing to pay him/her money for that

A plate cracked on one of my bikes and a guy in the shop said they could get a new one but, it would take about a month. I don't think they press them out at the Land and Transport Office.

You have to go to the Dept. of Land Transport office in the provance the vehicle is registered in. It must be the main office in the provincial capital city, not the smaller local offices some provinces have. I did this recently in Chonburi and it took about 2 weeks to get the new plates.
