Help Please

I have lost access to my e mail accounts. On trying to access, a google page keeps popping up with "Oops the link appears broken". Other sites are working including the mail servers site. Does anyone know why this has happened and how to fix it?

Any advice needs to be detailed as I am not computer savvy.

Thanks in advance

You should post the link. Without its impossible to provide help.

Use this web site http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

type in your email link and check if it shows "down for you"

report back

Just tried it -- no problems accessing the login page.

forgot to ask which provider do you use?

Also no problems from Chiangmai (DTAC EDGE).

sounds like you might have some malware or spyware. try from another machine or location to confirm

My provider is TOT

I have tried the site downforeveryoneorjustme.com

The reply:- "looks down from here"

I will try from a different computer tomorrow, but if everyone else can access it, is something to do with my computer?

Thanks everyone

not necessarily. It might be a routing problem at your providers end.

It was mentioned by another poster you might have some malware or spyware.

It might be causing this issue. Try to access from another location (but use the same provider!) and report the link to your provider as well.

I had a similar issue with my provider in the past and could be solved within minutes on their site.

If nothing will work from the above report back. There should be some solutions in store for your problem.

I have just run superantispyware the only threats found were 17 Adware.tracking cookies, which I have quarantined to be on the safe side. But it has not made any difference, the problem is still there.

That little black box that TOT supplied me with when I changed fron satalite to phone line ( is it a modem?) malfunctioned, TOT came just before the holidays and have lent me one of theirs until they confirm mine is still under warranty. I did have access to my e mail sites that same evening, turned everything off that night and this problem has been with me since trying to get back in the following day...hopefully you can follow what I am saying. I will be in to see TOT first thing tomorrow also test on another computer and report back.

I have been quite stressed about not having access to my e mails, but I am feeling a bit better knowing that there are people out there trying to help.

Many many thanks.

Clear your web browser cookies, history, cache files and try to access the site again.

If you're using Internet Explorer, goto Tools >> Internet Options. Depending on which version of IE you're using, in the General tab under Browsing history, click Delete; or Clear History, Cookies, Temporary Internet Files, etc.

If you're using Mozilla Firefox version 3.x, goto the Tools menu, click on Clear Private Data or press Ctrl+Shift+Del.

Viruses and malware can also interfere with web browsing. Download HijackThis and perform a system scan, then post your HJT log here so others can have a look at it.

I have my e mails back. Basically the connection stopped when TOT closed for holidays, today they are back and by lunch time I was able to access my e mail accounts.

I had been in to see TOT, waited over an hour to speak to someone and they had said I would have to wait 3 days as they were busy so I am happy to see that the issue has resoved itself somehow.

I have cleared the cookies and followed all the advice, thank you everyone, no doubt I will be back again if it all goes wrong a second time.
