Thought I was the only one who noticed.

The only chance you have of seeing any other team is when they're playing the Yanks or the Red Sox.

It's crap.

Guys, a response here to an earlier thread, same thing. Please send a complaint to ESPN, c'mon just moaning here doesn't cut it.

I'm bringing up this thread again in the hopes some of you MLB fans will take notice. It appears (so far, anyway) that Truvisions will be showing only NY Yankee games on ESPN channel 64. The 1st two games this weekend and Friday the 17th were/are Yankee games...

Last year True TV started the same way (Yankees-only) and only broadcast a few non-NY games much later in the season. I'd like to think they changed the NY-only policy because of viewers complaints....

I don't mind a proportionate # of NY games but can't go thru another season like last year. I reckon if you're a Yankee fan you'll be happy though...

I've asked True TV what their policy/schedule is this season but have received no answer as yet. If they reply it's Yankees-only again I'll let you guys know. I'll be sending a strong message of complaint and urge everyone who feels the same to do so too...

Hi Cloghead,

Just want to clarify things for you. TRUE VISIONS itself has nothing to do with the broadcasting of MLB games in Thailand, so complaining to them about the overload of Yankees games is rather pointless.

MLB games aired on the ESPN channel that you receive via TRUE are the province of ESPN, which is a sports channel independent of TRUE. TRUE just carries that channel along wth several others in their lineup that folks want to complain to TRUE about--misguidedly so--about programming, and program decisions.

Your complaint should be directed at ESPN itself, and you can go to their website, espnstar.com, and attempt to leave a comment.

Also, take a look here, www.espnstar.com/feedback/

Just checked it, and it looks like you can leave a comment there, and it will be received.

But they are the ones who are ensuring that we get a steady diet of Yankees baseball games--for whatever reason, I don't know--and it's been that way the past several seasons. (With the occasional Dodgers game thrown in.)

In the absence of any explanation by the Singapore-based broadcast entity which uses the 'ESPN brand', I can only surmise that it has some kind of deal with MLB to air only games from those two teams, or that it might even have individual deals outside MLB's control with the teams directly. That's why fans here are stuck with the Yankees, the occasional Dodgers game, and once-in-a-blue moon a game with teams other than those two.

What's more pathetic, there are no more original ESPN-from-the-U.S. MLB games (along with ESPN's NFL games in the States) aired on ESPN here! How can that be? What connection besides the logo and slogan and some old graphics do they even have with the U.S. ESPN? None that I can see.

What a joke. And then you hear those promos as nauseum on the station, with the over-amped announcer, "MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL, ON ESPN". I have told them they should change it to what it is, 'New York Yankees baseball on ESPN', for some truth in advertising.

Take it to ESPN, TRUE's off the hook on this one.

To add insult to injury, the past few weekends' games have had whole innings deleted--usually when the Yankees opponents are batting. During the Cleveland series several of the Indians innings when they scored runs were not even shown.

In the Tampa Bay game showing right now the entire 5th inning and top of the 6th (where Tampa scored a run to go into the lead) have been deleted altogether.

<deleted> is up with this shlt??? Are these games being edited to make time for crap such as "Uda National Dance Team Championships", "Tour of Flanders For Women", "Kaohsiung World Games Mixed Dbl Bowling" and other such happy horseshlt... :)

Game over. According to MLB the official game time was 3:27. True showed 2:55 start to finish. What happened to the 32 minutes??? A buddy just told me he saw the same game (starting at 0600 this morning) and nothing was deleted...

So it appears that some moron at True is editing the games now.

The only bright side of this clusterfukc is the Yankees lost... again...

Hi again Cloghead,

No, it is--how did you phrase it?--'a moron'--at ESPN who is editing the games. Any replay or any delayed (not shown live but aired later the day it's played) game has a three-hour airtime slot, and innings are cut. Even if the actual time of the game is under three hours, it still ends up getting cut. Longer games have more innings cut from them. But they never cut any of their silly promos, where if they did, they could show the whole game. It's ass backwards, man. In fact, they even ADD extra promo spots during these replay broadcasts, so some of the between-inning breaks end up being three or four minutes long. Another real drag.

Same thing when they replay basketball games, and when they used to have the NFL games. And you are correct, there is often no rhyme or reason to the cuts. I've seen games where a pitcher's being removed, team's in a jam, and when they come back from the 'promo break', the game's been moved up an inning or two! They've even cut away to air promo spots when a guy was in his windup, when there was no cut in the original airing! And return from the promos a couple of batters later. "Whoa, what happened?"

Sometimes a baseball game lasts almost four hours, right? And a lot are over three hours. You have to see them live, you can't count on enjoying watching the later replays, they trash the game with their edits and extra promo spots. I give up on the replays.

Give 'em your two baht's worth. Also, there's an American guy who writes a sports column in the BKK Post, Dave Wiggins, give him a shout. He takes some minor shots at them from time-to-time, but I'd like to see a whole column taking these ESPN clowns to task, name-and-shame them, he's just needs a bit more prodding. He publishes his email address in the column, so it's not like this is a private thing, here it is [email protected]

I'll let Dave know this topic is going, so pick up the ball and make yourself heard!

It's another weekend of Yankee krap and edited games. I sent an email to Dave but no reply. So no help there.

You seem to be in the know re ESPN so who is the head pole-polisher I should contact about this continued shlt they are broadcasting???

Yankees v. Blue Jays yesterday... yawn.

Some mid-level putz either at True or ESPN thinks this fun, or that his team need more exposure.

It's a disgusting embarrassment from a supposed professional network.

I worked at a daily newspaper many years a go with a rabid Chicago Bears fan. He used to do the same shit, loading the sports pages with stories about his players and his stadium and his team.

It's bullshit. I think I'll drop an e-bomb.

I'll help you. Let me know how. But I'm thinking about something a bit more persuasive than an ebomb. Something that get's the point across but we can't be prosecuted for...
