Are they still giving one day tourist visa service in Penang?

Last time I was there they were taking the application in the morning and returning the passport with visa in the afternoon same day just checking if this is still how they are doing it?

When did they start doing that? On all my previous visits (October 07 and back) you submitted your application one day and picked up your passport with visa the following afternoon.

September or October of last year if I remember correctly.

Hear from good buddies that make these runs to varies location that this pretty much the norm now. Happy Visa Runs to all that must.

This is only for tourist visas - non immigrant is still next business afternoon.

Worked for me on April 29. 2009. Was very surprised! However, I regard this to be more a "lucky coincidence" than ... and therefore would not bet on it.
