Featured Replies

I know this is short term, but i need an answer as soon as possible, I heard its open on monday cause its not a government holiday, but ive also heard that its closed cause it is still a holiday, anyone can confirm,

my visa expires on monday, my work was not able to assist me on my visa till monday i wanted to do it earlier as a just in case, but i had to wait,

thank you for your answers and support

I'm a little confused too.

Thereis nothing on the Thai calender that suggests a holiday this coming Monday. However my G/F called the head office in Bangkok for the "post office" Their responce was.. Almost all post offices are closed on Monday

Looks like it will be another holiday..

Those Knuckheads at the "post office" are telling your GF what they think she wants to hear, because they think she should know better in the first place :D:)

I am a government employee and originally I was told it is a holiday however we do not have off because we have final exams. I'm due for my 90 visit to immigration today obviously they are not opened on Sunday so I planed on going tomorrow but I am now told "it's a strange holiday" some government offices have off and others do not. The official holiday is ploughing day I hardly see the need for the day off as it is a farmers holiday and the farmers should actually be ploughing one would think.

Bangkok immigration will be open on Monday according to a post on immigrations website.

The others probably will be closed. A member reported that he had called his local office and was informed that they would be closed on Monday.

Certainly a holiday on monday or tuesday. Is it that Royal Ploughing ceremony? Banks open though, and stock market.

I have no idea what will be open. Monday was not an official holiday for everybody until the cabnet made it one to make up for yesterday which was ploughing day according to the calender.

Yes a Government holiday.

Why have you left it so late? I would have been pushing my company to be helping get the paperwork together at least 2 weeks in advance, and going to Immigration a week before my Visa/Extension ran out.

I would have been pestering and letting them know that if they did not get it done before a certain date, then I would have other costs to pay, cause if the Visa/Extension runs out, you have to get a new one, and that means leaving Thailand.

Remember the 7 P's.........................

Prior Planning and Preparation prevents Piss poor performance

Monday is an official government only holiday as confirmed by my brother and sister in law who are both senior officers at our local khet.

No idea about immigration though.

Yeah,well,it's a drain of the pocket,but the Thais likr it.(me too) :)

The day of the Ploughing Ceremony is nearly always an official government holiday. Government offices don't close for the May Day holiday, but take this one instead.

Yes I do like to know how many holidays do you have in Thailand? I guess it is ok for all the farangs who live over here and collect the pension from overseas but you try to make a living if you have a small business over here and every week you have a fricken holiday. If you need goods or parts to finish the job you have to do in time, how can you survive if the shops are closed every bloody second day?
